Formed in 1996 as the Unknown Blues Band \, with founding members Big Al Lauro\, Warren Haynes ( Allman Bros\, Gov’t Mule)\, Rick Gergen ( Sweethearts of the Rodeo)\, the band has been featured at festivals and venues throughout the US. \nThe new Cd “World Full of Trouble” (Ellersoul Records). This is the band’s 7th cd release\, and includes several guest artists\, such as famed Muddy Waters guitarist Bob Margolin\, New Orleans guitarist\, John Lisi from Delta Funk. Big Al and the Heavyweights also welcome back former Heavyweight and harmonica virtuoso\, Jason Ricci. “World Full or Trouble was recorded at famed Suite Mix Studios in Slidell\, La. Noted for Funky Meters guitarist Brian Stoltz’s numerous recording projects. The Cd charted at # 10 on the Living Blues Charts and was frequently played on XMs Bluesville. \nTheir live performances are family oriented\, energetic and most of all fun. They have been staples at the WC Handy Festival in Muscle Shoals\, AL as well as the Mardi Gras Celebration at Universal Studio’s in Orlando. This is a show you don’t want to miss !

DESCRIPTION:J.P. Soars is soaring high\, touring the world after releasing a new studio album last Fall\, LET GO OF THE REINS\, produced by Tab Benoit on Benoit’s Whiskey Bayou label. Soars was also nominated for “Blues Rock Artist of the Year” in the 40th annual Blues Music Awards\, alongside blues music heavyweights Billy Gibbons\, Eric Gales\, Kenny Wayne Shepherd\, and Tinsley Ellis\, rounding out the Blues Rock category. \nIn the decade since he burst upon the national scene by winning 1st place in the Blues Foundation’s 2009 International Blues Challenge in Memphis\, TN with his band the Red Hots (and the prestigious Albert King Award as best guitarist)\, Arkansas native J.P. Soars has toured extensively through the United States\, Canada\, South America and Europe\, and released an impressive catalog of powerful music. In addition to his work with his own Red Hots\, Soars has been part of the regional all-star blues act Southern Hospitality\, also featuring Tampa vocalist/guitarist Damon Fowler and 2019 Grammy nominee\, Memphis vocalist/keyboardist Victor Wainwright\, plus Red Hots drummer Chris Peet and Wainwright’s bassist Terrance Grayson. The Band’s 2013 Blind Pig release\, “Easy Livin’” earned a Blues Blast Award for “Best New Artist Debut Release”\, and they toured worldwide in-between the three bandleaders’ own schedules. \nSoars was featured on an album by Jimmy Thackery and the Drivers\, and has released five albums on his own and with the Red Hots\, most recently the critically acclaimed SOUTHBOUND I-95. Brian Owens of Blues Music Magazine writes: “Make sure you have a fire extinguisher handy when you play Southbound I-95\, cause J.P. Soars and his gang are on fire.” Steve Ovadia of American Blues Scene writes\, “Soars’ voice and guitar are the glue that holds the album together. Both are the common thread through the various songs and both inject all of the tracks with a warmth and humanity. J.P. Soars is much more than just a gun-slinger.” \nJ.P. is psyched about his upcoming release\, recorded during a whirlwind weeklong session at Tab Benoit’s Whiskey Bayou studios\, with a band featuring Red Hot’s drummer Chris Peet on bass\, and Benoit on drums\, they recorded twelve songs in five days – eight originals which they wrote on the spot\, plus four choice covers. The inspiration for the album came from the many nights they all spent jamming into the wee hours on the Legendary Rhythm and Blues Cruise and at the Big Blues Bender\, and as expected\, they captured many magical musical moments on this record. \nJP Soars\nSoars got bitten by the blues bug via a legendary source in 1988\, when he won a guitar and two tickets in a raffle to see B.B. King in concert. Meeting the iconic guitarist and singer further enhanced the young musician’s quest to learn more about the timeless power of the music. Soars started his blues recording career a decade ago with the 2008 release Back of My Mind\, followed by More Bees With Honey (2011) and Full Moon Night in Memphis (2014). Collectively\, his catalog has received extensive airplay on the XM Radio programs of Little Steven (“Underground Garage”) and B.B. King (“Bluesville”); Top 50 status on the “Living Blues” charts\, Blues Music Award nominations for “Best Contemporary Male Blues Artist of the Year\,” and “Best Blues CD” and “Album of the Year” accolades from the Palm Beach Post. \nA gritty and expressive vocalist\, Soars elicits signature tones from hollow-body guitars\, plus a home-made two-string cigar box guitar for his incendiary slide guitar playing. All of which has helped him earn dates at the Baltic Sea Festival in Germany\, the Liberation Day Festival in Holland\, and other shows in France\, Switzerland\, Luxembourg\, Austria\, and Colombia as well as road work throughout the United States and Canada. \nIn the past two years\, Soars and the Red Hots have also played the Peer Blues Festival in Belgium\, sharing the stage with Buddy Guy\, Joe Bonamassa\, Brian Setzer\, and Larry Graham\, and the Mississippi Delta Blues Festival in Caxias do Sul\, Brazil before 10\,000 people. After being discovered by the Brazilian festival’s presenter while playing with his “Gypsy jazz” project at a South Florida venue\, Soars and company played the side stage in that format\, then headlined the main stage with full blues intensity at its ninth annual event. \nFor the past several years\, Soars has additionally been part of the regional all-star blues act Southern Hospitality. Both his all-star band and new Red Hots CD may have names framed in southern trajectory\, but Soars’ career is clearly on a northward upswing. \nBAND MEMBERS\nChris Peet – Drummer\nChris comes from a family with generations of musicians\, and early on developed a style of his own. Chris has made a living as one of the hardest working and most requested drummers in South Florida and clearly is good company with these fine musicians\, that call themselves the Red Hots\, and yes they are just that….. Red Hot! Growing up in a family that includes generations of musicians\, as well as music lovers\, Chris learned to respect music of all eras\, genres\, and styles. He cites this early groundwork to be the main reason he appreciates and plays many different styles of music. He always says “My family never put a bad record on the turntable.and I think that made me a better musician before I ever picked up the sticks”. He has played and recorded with numerous local bands throughout the South and Central Florida area. The most recent highlight of Peet’s career\, in addition to winning the current I.B.C. title\, occurred while joining legendary artist Matt Guitar Murphy – one of the original Blues Brothers – in an unforgettable recording session of Murphy’s favorites. \nCleveland Frederick – Bass\nBassist Cleveland Frederick is an aspiring musician who grew up in the Caribbean. He is drawn to exotic sounds and a variety of musical influences including Jazz\, Latin\, Reggae\, African\, Indian and Gospel. His main instruments are the electric and upright bass but dabbles with the sitar\, an Indian stringed instrument. \nJazz is near and dear to him because it allows him alot of freedom and expression. His Jazz influences includes the Pianist Chick Corea\, Bassist Michael Pipoqinha\, Bassist Richard Bona\, Weather Report\, Sitarist Mita Nag and many more. \nHe has performed in various venues\, including churches\, hotels\, and cruise ships along with touring doing festivals throughout the United States and abroad.

A career that has repeatedly taken Stuart to Europe\, UK\, Canada\, and 49 of the United States includes having begun in his native Nashville as a teenage working musician. From membership in the Nashville Rebels (his father’s band that appeared in the Waylon Jennings movie “The Nashville Rebel”) to sideman stints for Steve Earle\, Freddy Fender\, Joan Baez\, and Steve Forbert he has NEVER STOPPED WORKING as an active musical force. In previous years the artist fronted rock/blues bands of his own that included notable guitarists Warren Haynes (Gov’t Mule\, Allman Brothers Band) and Dave Rawlings (Gillian Welch\, Dave Rawlings Machine) serving HIM as second guitarist! Mark Stuart is touring as heavily as ever. Audiences will find his usual material from solo CDs and Stacey Earle/Mark Stuart CDs. Blues Meets Girl is bonefide Blues thru and thru.\nMr. Downchild\nGrowing up in a musical family\, Mr. Downchild began his singing career after hearing British Skiffle legend Lonnie Donegan and had his first paying gig at the age of 5. By age 15 he had performed on the London Theatre stage and T.V. both acting and singing until he discovered the Blues of Sonny Boy Williamson. This changed everything. A self-taught harmonic player and guitarist he discovered the open tunings and learned to play slide guitar. He played in various bands in London until he came to the U.S. in 1985. Steev\nThere he met Robert Lockwood Jr.\, who became his close friend and mentor. They recorded together in 1994 and since then Mr. Downchild had toured 25 states and produced 6 albums. He was equally influenced and encouraged by Pinetop Perkins and Junior Wells. Mr. Downchild plays the Delta/Chicago Blues and performs both as a one man band or in his current project\, Blues Meets Girl (duo) and with a band.\nKasimira\nTexas born singer songwriter “Kassy” was greatly influenced by her parents vast collection of albums that included Jazz\, R & B\, Folk and Blues and music was always being played on the radio. At age 9 her mother sent her to a voice teacher and by age 17 she had performed in many concerts and theater productions. She went onto college furthering her musical studies at The Dana School of Music but to her dismay opera was the only option for vocalists.Kashimira\nAlways searching for great female artists\, she soon discovered Etta James\, Big Mama Thorton and Koko Taylor. Secretly she went with her friends in the Jazz program to the local Jazz & Blues clubs. Her voice teacher caught her performing at a downtown event\, not singing opera\, he confronted her saying “Miss. Vogel\, the reason I cannot get from you the operatic qualities is because you are listening to that Jazz & Blues music.”\nShortly after that she decided that she needed to make her own path and designed a degree thru the University for Musical Theatre\, the first of its kind there. She continued to sharpen her skills as lead singer of several bands including Network out of Worcester Ma and The Pale Daisies. Kasimira has 2 cds under her belt and has toured 5 states. She is equally at home singing original material as she is paying homage to the great female vocalists that influenced her.
